Crime Prevention - Protect Your Vehicles

There are numerous reports of car break-ins every day and Tanglewood is no exception. There are plenty of ways that you can help lessen your chances of your car getting hit from night-time prowlers by doing a few simple things that may go over your heads sometimes.

  1. Always lock your vehicle and take your keys.

  2. Never leave your car running and unattended.

  3. Take valuables with you when you are not in your vehicle.

  4. If you are going to keep a valuable in your car, make sure they are out of sight.

  5. Install an anti-theft device. Many insurance companies may give you a discount for certain anti-theft devices. Check with your agent for details.

  6. Do not leave your guns or any equipment in your car. These are highly targeted items that car thieves look for because they can sell them.

Car theft and burglary can happen any time of year, but the summer months are the busiest time for car thieves. The Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority encourages Texans to always remember to secure their vehicle. Remember “If You Like It-Lock It.” Lock your vehicle and take your belongings – do everything in your power to reduce your chances of becoming a victim of auto theft.
